This is the longest day on the Coast to Coast walk, and with a diversion in place, it meant a 23 mile day. The saving grace is that the route is incredibly flat, mostly following roads and crop fields all day.
But today is far from boring. There is the wonderfully named Danby Wiske to aim for lunch. There is the crossing of the East Coast Mainline. There is the fact that when you’ve completed today you are on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors. Really, that is about it. So probably today is kind of boring. But if taking photos of hay or running through wheat fields is your thing, then you’ll bloody love it.
